ISB Kindergarten Brno within the IB Primary Years Programme

Our Kindergarten is part of the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and provides a safe, caring and stimulating environment where young children can learn, explore and grow through English.

The PYP supports children’s natural curiosity and encourages them to become increasingly independent, confident and engaged in their learning.

Children aged 3 and 4 learn primarily through play, inquiry, exploration and first-hand experience. Teachers create learning environments that encourage children to ask questions, make choices, communicate their ideas, collaborate with others and develop their own ways of understanding the world around them.

English is the shared language of our school community. Children hear and use it naturally throughout the day during play, routines, conversations and learning experiences. At the same time, our international environment gives them opportunities to encounter different cultures, languages and perspectives from an early age.

The IB PYP focuses on the development of the whole child. Alongside knowledge and understanding, children develop social, communication, self-management, thinking and research skills. They learn to express their ideas, listen to others, take responsibility, make decisions and become increasingly independent learners.

At the International School of Brno, we encourage children to develop a strong sense of who they are, to respect others and to build a positive relationship with learning. Through meaningful experiences, reflection and inquiry, they begin to develop the attitudes and skills that will support them throughout their educational journey.

Our Kindergarten is a place where children feel safe, valued and included, with the freedom to explore, create, take appropriate risks and learn through authentic experiences.
