International School of Brno was established in 2008 as a non-profit organization in the Czech Republic, with major support from Brno town hall and the South Moravian regional office. Our aim is to provide Kindergarten to High School students from all over the world with the necessary tools to become committed, lifelong learners and responsible, engaged citizens of the world.
ISB is an IB World School as well as fully accredited by the Council of International Schools. Additionally, we are a member of Cambridge International Education (CIE) and the Council of British International Schools (COBIS). It is also recognized by the Czech Ministry of Education as an international elementary school.
Every interaction between ISB community members be conducted in a caring and sensitive manner. We all must help make sure that ISB is a safe and nurturing environment for children. No member of the ISB community should ever be subjected to discrimination or abuse for any reason including but not limited to race, ethnicity, religion, lifestyle, or disabilities.
Every member of the community is expected to work towards achieving their personal best each and every day. We are here to help students make decisions about how they learn best and take risks so that they are always willing to try to succeed in new ways. To try and fail is always ok. To fail to try is not.
Teaching and learning are most effective when students are having fun. If it is not fun, it is not memorable.
The school operates in a spacious and modern building, 15 minutes from the city center. Students enjoy large, brightly lit classrooms, a culinary arts room, a multimedia room/library, a new gym, an outdoor pitch and a KG playground. The premises are shared with a local Czech Elementary school.
