Our Team

Victoria Mayne (Miss Vicky)

Victoria Mayne (Miss Vicky) My name is Victoria Mayne (Miss Vicky) and I am very happy to have joined the Kindergarten team in 2014. I am originally from New Hampshire, USA and received a degree in English Literature from Ithaca College. A love of traveling and adventure brought me to Europe where I began my career as an ESL teacher in Prague. My experience working as a teaching assistant for Park Lane International School led me to pursue a PGCE from Nottingham University in 2013. Now, I am delighted to be teaching the Year 1 at ISB. I love working with young children because it brings new and exciting challenges every day and a great deal of laughter.

Seema Singh (Ms. Seema)

Seema Singh (Ms. Seema) My name is Mrs. Seema Singh (Ms. Seema). I am from Delhi, India. I have a Masters degree in Education and Political Science. I have been teaching for about 16 years, and it is so rewarding. I have spent my career teaching primary and special needs children in India. I started teaching in ISB kindergarten in 2009. I just love working with the little ones. I enjoy watching their faces as they make connections to the learning around them each day. I am amazed by how much the children I teach actually teach me. Each day in a kindergarten classroom brings new and exciting things. I am honoured to be able to do what I truly LOVE to do.

Markéta Yoder (Ms. Markéta)

Markéta Yoder My name is Marketa Yoder (Ms. Markéta). I joined the ISB Kindergarten team in 2012. I was born in Brno, Czech Republic. I worked as a teacher at KinderCare in Virginia US from 2006 to 2008 and at Casablanca American School in Morocco from 2008 to 2010. I received an Early Childhood Certificate from Concordia University in 2007 as well as a Masters in Architecture from Brno Technical University in 1996. My teaching career began after my daughter Maria was born in 2004. She was the reason I changed my professional career. I love Art, books about history, and long walks in nature. I enjoy discovering the world through the eyes of children. It's my pleasure everyday.

Soňa Štěpánková (Ms. Soňa)

Soňa Štěpánková My name is Soňa Štěpánková and I am from the Czech Republic. I am a driven and passionate educator with more than 14 years of success as a primary classroom teacher, mentor and leader. I hold a Master’s in primary education, have taught internationally and work as the Early and Primary Years Coordinator at the International School of Brno. I teach because, for me, it's the most effective and most enjoyable way to change the world. Teaching allows me to work on hearts and minds, to guide children in becoming empowered, literate, engaged, and creative human beings who want to join in this effort to change the world. In my spare time, I love spending time with my family and friends, running, playing volleyball and reading.

Anaelle Potin (Ms. Anaelle)

My name is Anaëlle Potin. I am from Bretagne, in France. I have a masters degree in Education for kindergarten and primary school from Universiy of Paris. Here, I was the class teacher for one year in Sevran (Paris) and I really loved it. It was a very enriching experience because of the international background of my pupils. This year I came to live in Brno and I am very enthusiastic to start working with ISB. Being there with the children and seeing them grow day by day, really makes me happy.

Chelsea McGill (Ms. Chelsea)

My name is Chelsea McGill and I am from Austin, Texas, USA. I have a Bachelor of Science in Community Health as well as a Master of Public Health. During graduate school, I spent time working with students of varying ages and conducting research in public schools. I’ve also taught children in pre-school, 4th grade, and at the high school level. I’ve been teaching in China for the past three years and really enjoyed my time there. I love seeing all the different personalities students can have and seeing them change and discover new things over the course of a school year is really rewarding. I am very excited to be working with the Kindergarten afternoon program this year at ISB.

Parents' Reviews

10.2. 2017 MAARTJE

My two boys started school at ISB in September 2015. One in grade 1 and the other in grade 3. (Both are not native English speakers.) I (as a mom) found sending them to school for the first day really scary. New country, new city, new school and even a new Language. They came home happy and just after a couple of weeks the boys started to speak English and they were really beginning to feel at home in school. The Staff, teachers and other parents have been a great help with adjusting not only to school life, but also to life in Brno in general. The atmosphere in school is really welcoming and warm. There is always a listening ear.
Also the PTA has been a great help, connecting with other parents and really feeling part of the ISB community.
So far it has been a great experience for us!
