IB Diploma Programme

"The IB Diploma Programme (DP) is an academically challenging and balanced programme of education with final examinations that prepares students, aged 16 to 19, for success at university and in life beyond. It has been designed to address the intellectual, social, emotional and physical well-being of students. The programme has gained recognition and respect from the world’s leading universities".

The 3 components of the core are designed to both broaden students’ learning experience and at the same time support their learning across the subjects.  All Diploma Programme students must successfully complete all 3 components in order to receive the diploma.

Theory of Knowledge

A course that asks students to think about ‘knowledge’ and the different ways we know what we know.

Creativity, Activity and Service

Through regular reflection and a final project, student learn through real-world experience beyond more traditional academic ways.

Extended Essay

An independent research project on a topic chosen by the students ending with a 4 000-word essay.  This helps prepare students for the demands of university.

The Diploma Programme makes up two years of study with final exams taking place during the last quarter of the 2nd year.
