Sylva - Year 11 parent

We moved to Brno from Slovakia where our daughter visited standard school education system similar to Czech schools. The ISB education system is different from the standards in our countries.

There are many questions based on WHYs compare to repeating facts. It is very important to apply theoretical knowledge in practice. The ISB thinking is open minded, opened eyes and opened heart combination.  

There are many activities and areas supporting students, such as art, sports, volunteer activities, Duke of Edinburgh system, etc. We like the building community approach when a new comer attends the school, the students are taking care of him / her together with the teachers and they incorporate a new valid member of the team. Teachers are highly supporting students to say out loud their thoughts and ideas which builds theirs confidence in communication. They are also encouraging students to work independently as well as in teams.

We like the fact that during Parents and teachers meetings the student should be always present and all issues both positive and challenging are discussed together.
We are happy that our daughter has a chance to grow with the ISB education system and get ready for her next education at universities worldwide.

We would like to thank to ISB for all support during pandemic. ISB started to communicate and was ready from the very first day to continue with the on-line education.

Elena - Year 1 Parent

Our family relocated to the Czech Republic a year ago. After the arrival we have chosen ISB as a kindergarten for our 4years old daughter. Now she is a Year 1 student and we are extremely satisfied with the level of education she gets.

She has already been taught basic skills such as writing, reading and counting. But at the same time she is encouraged to express her personality while having Art and Music classes. At ISB children are also introduced to the environmental education and charity. From the young age they understand the importance of being caring, kind and compassionate. My daughter is excited about going to school every morning. A big thank you to all the supportive and friendly teaching staff for that.

I can consider the experience in ISB extremely positive for my children. Teachers are prepared and got a relaxed environment where children can learn with no stress and focused. ISB educational offer is rich and high, with several interesting subjects.

Also, during the remote learning period, as of Covid pandemic rising, the school showed to be well-prepared to face this hard test, with a good use of technology to grant the regularity of the lessons, as it would be at school, usually.
For sure I want to recommend this school.

Parents of two kids at ISB

Both of our kids are in the ISB primary school. We are very happy about the small classes and the learning environment in general. The classrooms are spacious and the students are invited to decorate, equip and create their learning environment together with their teachers. Because of the small classes the teachers have time and are willing to support the students and the kids can learn in their own pace.

That I like about ISB is there is a great student-teacher relationship, teachers are always there for their students and always try to do their best for them. Students don’t have to be afraid to ask any questions or ask for help if they don’t understand. Also the communication between parents and teachers is wonderful!

Our daughter Barbora started ISOB in Y11. This is not an ideal time to change schools as she will take her IGCSE exams this year. The main reason for this change was that we moved from Přerov. We were concerned how she is going to cope with so many changes – new environment at home as well as at school, long commuting, new classmates and teachers, transfer to a new sports club. A few months later we are sure this has been the right choice.

We see that teachers encourage our children to be responsible and independent students who are not afraid to communicate, to see things in wider perspective, to perceive external influences and to understand that theoretical knowledge as well as practical skills are a vital necessity to build upon. I know my daughter receives support from her teachers as well as from her peers. Her concerns about how she is going to cope have faded away. I asked Bara what I should write about her school. Quote: “Write that the school is absolutely cool.” That says it all, that is a weight off our mind.

"As a trilingual family, we chose ISB for our children because we wanted to provide them proper english education in Brno and we think that was the best decision of our life. It might sound cheesy but our children never been happier in any institution, and their incredible development amaze us every day. The communication is prefect, parents are well informed about their children and the teachers are very enthusiastic.

Our daughter transferred it ISB from a prestigious high school and had to “repeat” one school year to catch up. Was that a waste of year? Absolutely not! Every day she experiences so much amazing information, new opportunities and positive attitude from all of the ISB. No other school could possibly engage her like this. Even though there are many schools to choose from (in comparison to the time when I grew up) I have realized now when my son is older that for me there is one and only option I find the best. As a parent I totally identify with ISOB and with the idea that education was, is and always will be the best investment.
