Critical Thinking |
To evaluate their understanding of the 5 senses, our little ones used their critical thinking skills to identify which jar held salt and which jar held sugar. They then made a chart and shared their findings with one another. |

Phonics Fun |
Our little ones had fun wearing their letter vests and making words with digraphs. Kinesthetic learning is key in our Early Years as they thrive on movement, touch and manipulation of objects. |

Britannica |
Research and academic honesty are important parts of an IB education. To help support the students in their work, our teacher-librarian recently introduced staff and students to Britannica: an excellent online resource that helps students research topics using reliable, age-appropriate and up-to-date information that can be cited in their bibliographies. |

February has been a fantastic month for wellbeing at ISB! Our primary division has been focusing on the Kindness learner profile, engaging in activities that encourage thoughtful words and actions. Students have been busy “filling each other’s buckets” with kindness and learning about the boomerang effect of positive actions, as well as deepening their understanding of sympathy and empathy. Looking ahead, we are excited to host an in-person "Be Smart and Safe Online" workshop for parents on March 19th at 16:30 in the ISB auditorium. We hope to see our ISB parents there! Students will then participate in assemblies on March 20th, designed to help them navigate the online world safely and responsibly. It’s been a meaningful month full of learning, growth, and connection!

Well-Being at ISB |
|
|
For the month of February our Mind Matters club had an assembly on Cyber bullying. They discussed what it is, as well as the consequences and the effects of being kind to others online. They worked with various scenarios which provided great student engagement. This will pair well with our Cyber Safety assembly we will have next month throughout the school where we will have a guest speaker come in to give age appropriate presentations for being safe online.
What’s next
In the month of March as mentioned before, we will have a guest speaker come for talks on Cyber Safety. This will be for both students and parents. For our well being lessons, we will start our units on puberty, relationships, and sex. We will start these units in March and finish them in April. |
